Students from Classes 3 to 6 are enthusiastically filling in their Premier’s Reading Challenge reading logs! The Challenge continues until 19 August, and those who read ten books in ten weeks will receive a certificate form the Premier in Term 4.

Term 3 is a special time of year for the Library, as it is the time we celebrate Book Week! Plans are afoot for some special events during this week and, during the month leading up to this, we will conduct our annual “Donate a book to the Library” campaign. Last year saw nearly $1500 worth of books donated by families to the Library, and we are hoping for a similar result in 2013. The theme for Book Week this year is Read across the universe. Watch this space!

In September we will be joining with students and staff from our neighbouring school, St Aloysius, to host an author visit. Michael Gerard Bauer will be visiting to speak to secondary students and conduct writers’
workshops.
